Jeff has been raised in the business since birth. He began learning the ropes from company founder and Grandfather, Mac McHaley, and his father, Dan. Jeff graduated from the Gemological Institute of America with a Graduate Gemologist in Residence Diploma in 1987. A year later, he completed his degree in Supervision from Purdue and joined the company full-time. He is a full member of the International Society of Appraisers. Jeff is also current with USPAP, is extremely knowledgeable in coins and bullion, and works closely with both PCGS and NGC as an authorized dealer.
Dan purchased the company from his Father-in-Law, Mac, in 1972. He immediately set out, expanding the business in a multitude of ways. The growth under Dan led to the store's construction in its current location in 1980. Dan has been a true entrepreneur and guided the growth of Vierk's Fine Jewelry from a small niche store to a jewelry, coin, and bullion landmark in Mid-North Indiana. While currently semi-retired in Florida, he still keeps a pulse of the business and is a wealth of information and knowledge.
Elizabeth has been with Vierk’s for over 5 years and is one of our top jewelry sales professionals. She is often traveling the country and the world to find you the best new trends and best buys in jewelry, diamonds, and colored stones! She assists Sally with buying and selling our loose diamonds and is one of our custom designers as well. She was a 4H member for 10 years and so whether it’s talking about cows, sewing, designing, or jewelry trends, Liz is the associate always ready to help!
Sally has been with Vierk’s for over 20 years now and has a wide range of knowledge. She does everything from buying and selling loose diamonds to re-stringing strands of pearls and much more. Her development in her career was recognized by the Women’s Jewelry Association and she was nominated for the Rising Star Award. She is the definition of a jewelry sales professional and will brighten anyone’s day. During her free time she loves to play baseball with her son.
Kent has been a custom jewelry designer with Vierk’s for over 20 years. He began his career in 1989 after serving our country in the U.S. Army. Kent studied jewelry making and hand engraving at Gem City School of Horology and also studied wax design at GIA. In 2015 he was in the top 4 of a head-to- head bench jewelers competition at one of the largest jewelry trade shows in the US.
Officially out of the newbie role, Tania has been here for two years now. She handles our State Farm claims and can advise you on repairs. Have a slew of jewelry you’d like to redesign or just want something new and all your own? Talk to Tania about custom designing something. She is fluent in Spanish and studied French in college.
Alisha is new to the jewelry business & Lafayette. She has spent the last 5 years in sales & has enjoyed learning about jewelry. Born in Southern Indiana, she loves spending her free time with her family.
You can find Jacob in the coin area most of the time, but he is happy to help with your jewelry needs. Jacob has a military background from serving in The United States Navy. He has enjoyed turning a passion for coin collecting into a career in numismatics.
Rachel graduated from Ball State University with a BFA degree in metalsmithing and jewelry design. She joined Vierk’s this year and is thrilled to be on the sales team and share her love of jewelry and design with our customers. In her free time she loves to travel, practice yoga and bake.
